FORGIVE, HAVE FAITH,GLORIFY GOD AND WATCH THE SIGNS

written by Nonhlanhla Majola 16th February 2020

I would like to share the word of God from the book of Luke, chapter 17: 1 – 37. I have been given this Word, and feel compelled to share it with you as there are some wisdom nuggets that we can all obtain from this passage, to help us navigate the new year, new decade and use for the rest of our lives.

The book starts by informing us that offenses would come, as the come we ought to avoid one thing, that we are not the offense bearers, it reveals that people will sin against you, sometimes not once or twice but multiple times. So, what is it that you need to do when they sin against you?

3 Take heed to yourselves. If your brother sins against you, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him. 4 and if he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times in a day returns to you, saying, ” I repent; you shall forgive him

It is within our right to rebuke our brothers and sisters, because they know the word of God. If a sister or a brother is not a believer then it is pointless to rebuke them rather pray for them. To rebuke is to point people to the word of God , is to edge people not to go against the will of God, as you rebuke your brother or your sister use the word of God to show them the right way, also ask Holy Spirit to guide you in wisdom so that as you rebuke them, it may have a positive impact. But those who are not believers need our prayers.

Now I am talking to you Child of God, things that cause people to stumble mustn’t come through you. It’s a prayer we need to pray all the time as believers, that we may be vessels of Honour, to be used by our father only for good works. There is no honour if we can not forgive those who trespass against us or if we cause other people to stumble.

5 The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!” 6 He replied, “If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it will obey you.

Most people feel like they need something extra or added into their lives, I am here to tell that the blessings that you have are enough, the work of the cross is perfect and complete, you do not need to top it up. The disciples thought that in order for them to forgive the way Jesus was instructing them needed more faith. There are so many of us who are not grateful and not using what they already have because they feel they need more. Be grateful and see God ‘s blessings that are already stored in you manifesting. You already have what you need, to be what God created you to be. the power, the strength, all the abilities are already in you.

Again, faith combined with forgiveness will cause us to do what we are meant to do. We are called to be fruitful, to subdue the earth, there are promises that are to be fulfilled through us, there are kinds of work that are to follow us but they do not, WHY? Because we are not a forgiving people, we have no faith in God. But today we are being reminded to forgive and have faith in the word of God.

12 As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy met him. They stood at a distance 13 and called out in a loud voice, “Jesus, Master, have pity on us!” 14 When he saw them, he said, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed. 15 One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. 16 He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him—and he was a Samaritan. 17 Jesus asked, “Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? 18 Has no one returned to give praise to God except this foreigner?” 19 Then he said to him, “Rise and go; your faith has made you well.”

Just to give the background about leprosy. Leprosy was a serious disease those who were affected by it were not allowed to be in contact with other people,

We are in the situation where God is going to do amazing things, things that are magical and unusual, yes, He will do it for you, as you position yourself through forgiveness and faith. But, are you going to praise Him and give Him the credit that He deserves?

They were all healed but only one came back to Jesus to give Him the glory. Be grateful for big and small things, do not be like the other nine lepers, your blessings must not create a barrier between you and God, allow blessings to bring you closer to God by being grateful. God will never share His glory with anyone, so as He blesses you, make sure that you allow him to complete and seal His blessings upon your life.

37 “Where, Lord?” they asked. He replied, “Where there is a dead body, there the vultures will gather.”

Watch the omens, signs are everywhere, be ready for the coming of the Lord, He is going to come like a thief, unannounced.

Stay Blessed
