In life, there will be seasons that we will never prepare to go through them, even those that we kind of prepare ourselves for, as we go through them, we realize that we were never prepared enough. As human beings one of so many things that God has gifted us with is endurance, we are able to survive any kind of hardship, challenge or difficulty. Some of us have lost a whole lot during this season, and my heart goes out to you, may the good Lord comfort and give you courage to move on.
Moving on after a major loss! This is being said with a heavy heart, as I know it is not easy, and to some it may be more intense. The world is currently facing the same storm though it may not hit everybody the same way. One of the prayers that I find myself praying during this time is “Lord what is it that you want me to take or learn from this season of my life “. Below I have listed some of the lessons I have learnt:
- Introspection
This was an introspective time for me, When this pandemic hit the globe, I recalled the word that God gave in the beginning of this year, It taught me about forgiveness, faith and to be watchful of the signs. As I pondered on how I should respond during this season, I found myself digging deep within me and asking God to reveal every sin that might be hidden. So, the lock down period gave me time to search my heart with sincere and ask God to purify me. It was about me getting back to my lane, being shaped and remolded in my spirit.
- Forgiveness
God is really emphasizing the dangers of unforgiveness in my life; we are here today because He forgave us through Jesus. Forgiveness is one of his qualities and it is required of us to show it all the time. There is no way we can justify unforgiveness. We are being encouraged to remove the heavy burden of unforgiveness. As we harbour unforgiveness; it grows and becomes something bigger that is detrimental to our soul. Be careful to avoid what can kill your soul!
- Money is not everything
I remember sharing the word early this year that we live it times where money, medical aid and other things that we depend on as human beings cannot help us sometimes, we need God more than anything. I said it, having no clue that we were in for such a plague in 2020, but when the pandemic hit us, I then realized why God wanted to be put or sought before anything else. There is nothing wrong with money and all these other things, but having them without God is a lopsided life
- Reorganization
What happened to the world was very disturbing; you did not have to lose your loved one or your business in order for you to feel it, no. Just before the pandemic, I was talking to my sister that, I do not like the way I was living my life, I felt like I was too busy, and racing through life without taking a pause. I remember saying to her If I was living in a city where all services are easily accessible, I would sign up for meditation or yoga classes, just to calm my spirit. I felt like there was no order and my thoughts were uncontrollably all over the place. I am so grateful for the Lock Down, though it started with anxiety and a little bit of fear, after asking God’s intervention, there was a huge reorganization process that happened internally.
- We are more connected than we think
Maybe let me say we are more comparable than we think, if the whole world can be hit by one stone called COVID19, This calls for a new mindset. This tells us that the same prayer I say for myself I can now say for my neighbor. The prayer that is being said for Africa needs to be said for Europe and America. You may not be affected physically but as you look how harsh this pandemic has been in other areas of the world, it leaves your spirit restless. That is why we need to carry each other in prayer all the time.
These are some of my lessons. I really believe that you have also learnt life-changing lessons, and did not miss what God was trying to communicate with you. Somebody said we are not in the same boat but most definitely in the same storm, and this means the demands are different for each person. This calls for you to stay in your lane.
Stay blessed
