Numbers 27:1 -7 (King James Version)
1 Then came the daughters of Zelophehad, the son of Hepher, the son of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, of the families of Manasseh the son of Joseph: and these are the names of his daughters; Mahlah, Noah, and Hoglah, and Milcah, and Tirzah.
2 And they stood before Moses, and before Eleazar the priest, and before the princes and all the congregation, by the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, saying,
3 Our father died in the wilderness, and he was not in the company of them that gathered themselves together against the Lord in the company of Korah; but died in his own sin, and had no sons.
4 Why should the name of our father be done away from among his family, because he hath no son? Give unto us therefore a possession among the brethren of our father.
5 And Moses brought their cause before the Lord.
6 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
7 The daughters of Zelophehad speak right: thou shalt surely give them a possession of an inheritance among their father’s brethren; and thou shalt cause the inheritance of their father to pass unto them.

This a continuation from our last post as we are still conversing from the same passage, but today we are focusing on the five daughters of Zelophehad they fought for what they believed in, studying this passage I am so fascinated by their audacity to approach the whole assembly of Authorities to speak about something that other people were not keen to talk about. I believe that it was not easy for them to stand in the presence of the assembly but it was worth it and I also believe that it took God for them to even utter the words that made Moses to bring their cause before the Lord, Child of God be rest assured that when God propels you to talk about something in your spirit He will also give you utterance, His utterance comes with conviction . It was an established policy that only sons will be able to inherit from their fathers but they chose to speak up because they knew that being females did not mean they would not be able to do what males can do (which is to keep their father’s name among his clan in this case) and God favoured them
Women are gifted with influence, their speech is a catalyst, their action is a reaction, their thoughts have a power to manifest things. We are living in an era where God wants people who are willing and available to be game-changers regardless of their gender, He is looking for people who are bold and can not be intimidated by other people’s positions.
The bible tells us that “…. they stood….”, Spiritually the word “stand” means to be on the foundation, not to be overthrown or demolished, it means to be supported by the roots. Looking at these five young women we can tell that they were connected to God, they did not wake up and decided to approach their Elders but their actions reflects their alignment with the will of God hence God told Moses that the daughters of Zelophehad speak right.
I pray for women young and old who are going to speak right, who are morally upright, who are able to use their gift of influence to pursue the will of God, I pray for women who are not intimidated by the evil forces against them but I pray for women who will Stand and Speak Up.
