1 Thessalonians 5:18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

As you wake up in the morning , that’s another opportunity and time to do better, as you get ready for work : you bath  with warm water , put oil on your body, get dressed, head to the station and commute to your workplace,  sometimes you just go to your garage, as you start your car it responds positively and takes you to your destination, as you enter your workplace your colleagues greet you with a smile, they even ask “how are you?, how was your weekend? “, and continue to wish you a nice day, they are not obligated but they do it any way, after work you go back home, on your way back, you are able to buy something for breakfast the next morning, your wife has cooked, as you arrive home somebody gets to meet you with a smile and help you carry your stuff to the house, your kids are happy that you are home finally!, you are not cooking today because your husband or your friend has decided to take you out for dinner. Its pay day and you get paid.

What is written above may not apply to you as a reader, as some of it does not apply to me: I mean I do not have a husband or kids, but I do have colleagues who are nice to me and I am grateful to them. This is written to encourage gratitude, so read and write your own list of the things you are grateful for.

To God for everything,

To all my mornings for new mercies and new opportunities,

To my boss who always understand when I have an appointment with my doctor,

To my senior colleague who taught me what I did not know when I started my job,

To my doctor who is always there and available to do those house calls,

To my family for remembering my birthday,

To my Pastor who showed up at my mother’s funeral and did not give up on me when I did not attend church for a month,

To my nanny who was there when I failed to be there for my kids,

To my salary that comes even when I know I was not productive enough

To a friend that went overseas and brought me a gift,

To the readers of my blog

To the stranger who gave back my cell phone when it dropped on the seat

To our government who gives to the nation grants,

To my mother who was there when my firstborn was born to help me take care of my baby,

To my helper who keeps our home clean and organized,

To my gardener who gets dirty for my yard to be clean and in order,

To my brothers at the car wash who are always happy to see my car dirty, so that they can do their job, and are comfortable enough to suggest what needs to be bought for my car to look better,

To my prayer group that I always look forward to meet with every week, just because of the burden we share,

To all the strangers that attended my father’s funeral,

To my lover who tells me all the time that I am beautiful,

To friends who stick around, even when my schedule gets hectic,

To those who provided shelter when I had nowhere to go,

To strangers who lent me money,

To all parking assistants,

To the money that has a tendency of making its way to me,

To my body that does not disappoint and strong enough to perform all activities that are required from me,

To you who believed in my dream when I did not even know what it was,

To you who saw what I could not see and made me to see it,

To you who prayed and fasted for me,

To you who revealed strengths I did not know I had,

To you who gave me perspective when my mind was in turmoil

To that mechanic who fixed my car when it broke down in a foreign area

To you who loved and accepted me for who I am and still treated me like a human being,

To you who gave me advice to carry on,

To you who loved me when I was unlovable,

To you who still wished me success after I have failed so many times.,

To you who laughed and cried with me,

To you who see success and blessings in me,

To you who said and say thank you,

To all animal groups and vegetation, to the earth, sun, moon, skies and the stars, to the oceans, lands, mountains, rivers, valleys and rocks, to the winds, rains, hail storms and snow, you give me a better perspective of who God is, therefore I thank you.
