You were created by a loving God, who knew you before you were born, you have great value, God loves you unconditionally and wants to have a personal relationship with you.
God Created You
Psalm 139:13 – 16
13 For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be.
I know that maybe you never had a beautiful childhood, maybe the conditions in which you grew up were not so welcoming, but believe me when I tell you that God has not been absent, the fact that you are still alive means that God has been with you, He has been trying to draw you to himself, give Him a chance and He is going to give you a new life.
Develop a personal relationship with God
John 17:3 “ Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent”.
God is your creator, having a relationship with him will help you find your purpose and ultimately fulfilment
God Loves you,
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
God loves you so much that He gave his only begotten son Jesus Christ for you, when you believe God you are actually on the right path because you will never be disappointed , He created you and knew you before you were formed in your mother’s womb , so turning your life to him is giving your life to the one who knows your end from the beginning because He created you, make sure to confess your sins that are keeping you from having a relationship with your Maker.
What is sin?
James 4:17 If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them.
1 John 3:4 Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness.
Try for a day to be perfect and you will soon realise that you cannot do it, if you say you have no sin you are a liar, sin means not understanding, doing or caring about what is right
Who has sinned?
Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
Romans 5:17 For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ!
We simply cannot help it, we are human, when Adam sinned, sin entered the human race and sinfulness is part of our nature.
What’s so bad about sin
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in[a]Christ Jesus our Lord.
Isaiah 59:2 But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear.
Sin leads to death, because God is a perfect God he cannot have anything to do with us because we are sinners, but he wants to have a personal relationship with us……….
Only through Jesus can you have a personal relationship with God
The concept of having a relationship with the person that you cannot see or touch is quite tricky for some of us, that’s why Jesus came, He was a human being who lived on this earth so that we could understand what God is like, at this point you may discover that you have lots of question ( e.g. how can God be God and also Jesus?), No one has all the answers in fact some questions are unanswerable because we humans cannot comprehend God and how He works, but having a relationship with Christ is a spiritually reality and that will answer a lot of questions that you may have.
Jesus Is the answer
John 14:6 Jesus answered, I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
Since sin leads to death, and we see that in the old testament people sacrificed animals as a way to show how sorry they were for their sins, and those rituals were performed repeatedly since they could not permanently remove the sins, and God in Heaven came with the plan of sending his son Jesus Christ to be the final and ultimate sacrifice.
Why did Jesus have to die
1 Peter 3:18 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit.
Jesus took our punishment so that we wouldn’t have to, now because the way is prepared for us to have a personal relationship with God. So now you can respond by accepting Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, you may be saying but I grew up in the church and I pray often or maybe you may think you have done terrible things in the past and you are not worthy of the love of God. No one is too good or too bad for God, God want all people to come to him, all people need to trust in Jesus in order to be saved.
Respond with belief in Christ
Romans 10:9-10 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.
To believe does not mean you don’t have any questions or that you understand everything, it simply means that you recognise that you are a sinner and you need a Saviour. it means that you recognise that you cannot be good enough for a perfect God on your own, and you understand that God loves you so much that he sent his son Jesus to save you and give your life that God ordained for you
Receive Jesus as your Lord and Saviour
John 1:12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God
Receiving Christ means acknowledging your belief in Christ. Inviting him to come into your life turning from your present life way of living and then beginning the adventure of letting God direct your life and the moment you repent by saying a prayer believe it its done, Jesus has come in.
Prayer: Dear God I know that my sin has separated me from you. Thank you for sending your son Jesus Christ to die in my place. I ask you Jesus to forgive my sin and to come into my life, please begin to direct my life. Thank you for giving me eternal life, in Jesus’s name, Amen.
