1 Timothy 2:1 -2 “I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— 2 for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.”
I had a dream: I found myself in a place that looked like a council chamber or a hall to me, it was massive and filled to capacity,
There was a panel that was seated in front facing the crowd that was in this hall, I cannot remember all the people who were at the panel, but I do remember that our current President (Honourable Cyril Ramaphosa) was also in the panel.
There was a white guy that I do not know (in the physical realm), but He was doing a presentation or delivering a speech (sort of) , when He was done He came and stood in front of the President and asked (in a very rude way) if He can sit with Him, though I am not sure where the guy was seated before his presentation but it looked like He was in the Panel which made me wonder why was He now asking for a permission to sit, I could see that the president could see that the guy was being sarcastic but He still answered in a polite way and said “yes, you may sit”, and the guy kept on asking the same question as if He wanted the President to say something else but the president answered, still with the same tone “yes you may sit”, I found myself getting angry at what was happening and stood up from where I was seated and told the guy that the President said you may sit , and I started to look around and the turmoil that was in the assembly was disturbing , people were sitting in groups and not paying attention to what was the business of the assembly , even the panellists were doing their own things not paying attention to what was supposed to be discussed or happening on that day
By the time I looked back to the panel I saw our President Cyril Ramaphosa slowly taking out his handkerchief and wiping the tears, but still smiling, and my heart sank.
While I was so shocked by the behaviour of the assembly, that not even the people who are known to be closed to the President were concerned about all of this, The Lord began to show me the loneliness that the President felt, He may have His bodyguards, His cabinet, He may have those who tell Him that they love Him or support Him but He is the only President of South Africa ( I hope you do get my point), that whatever that is targeted at the President will ultimately get to Him, likewise with other leaders, i.e. If somebody hates you and decides to hurt you, for some reason they may not come directly to you but decide to hurt your child, and that will hurt you more than it would have if they were to come directly to you.
And the Lord began to show me that the turmoil that I saw is not only witnessed in our political space, He then showed families, churches, communities, organisations and companies that are also affected by this turmoil.
He showed me the loneliness that leaders often feel as they are leading, God showed me parents who are struggling to discipline their kids and they feel like failures, I saw God- ordained Pastors with wonderful visions yet their members are unable to grasp their visions, I saw community leaders who have died because people are frustrated and they blame them for not getting what they want in their communities , I saw good businesses not doing well just because subordinates do not adhere to those that have been placed above them.
Hebrews 13:17 “Have confidence in your leaders and submit to their authority, because they keep watch over you as those who must give an account. Do this so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no benefit to you.”
The guy who was questioning the President is a representation of many people from different settings who are finding it very hard to submit to their authorities, especially if they are not in agreement, i.e. As a Pastor you may have a church member that is so critical about everything that is being said in the church only because you preached what they did not like. Some people will be rude to you just because they prefer another person or they think you are not the right candidate for the position, some will provoke you just to set you up for failure, sometimes your child will disobey you because He or She is comparing your lifestyle at home with your neighbours, I do not know your challenges today but I pray that God may strengthen you so that you do not succumb to the schemes and the plots of your enemies.
I was then prompted to pray for all the people in positions of authority, from a Prefect in a classroom to a President of a country. Being in a position of authority is not easy, actually it is a very lonely space, by the way we are all leaders, because even those who are young they are growing up to be leaders, whether in a private space or a public space it’s not easy.
As a parent you may have a lot of problems with your kids and decide to tell other people about it …seeking help only to find that they are laughing at you, sometimes you may take the matter to your prayer group thinking they will stand in the gap for you in prayer, yes some will faithfully stand with you in prayer but when it doesn’t happen do not get disappointed, may the good Lord direct your steps as you seek help, only God can get you to knock on the right door.
May the good Lord comfort you from that lonely feeling and make you to know that you are not alone, He is with you, whether you feel it or not, but be rest assured that He has not forsaken you as He promised. Daniel 2: 21” He changes times and seasons; he deposes kings and raises up others. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning.”
May He make you understand that He is the one who placed you in that position, may you now reign boldly and freely knowing that the one who started the good work in you will finish it. I pray that God may give you the wisdom that you need so that you may fulfil His purpose, may you know that those who started with you may not finish with you, but also know that He is with you forever, some people are with you for a season when its their time to leave, gracefully let them go. If your time to walk alone has come, make no mistake to try and escape that venture, but walk it alone with God.
As you lead make sure to stay true to God who ordained you.
I invite you all intercessors and everyone who feel prompted to pray with us, lets us join our faith and cry with one voice and ask our God to deliver us.
